PIT DEWATERING

Fleet of Land Based Evaporators

MANAGING MINE WATER IN THE MOST CHALLENGING CONDITIONS

An effective programme to remove excess water in mining processes is vital to enabling operational efficiency all while complying with regulatory requirements.

Removing mine water and managing the quality of stored pit lake water is vital to keeping a mine moving, enabling operators to access recoverable resources and efficiently manage the by-products of the process.

Minetek has extensive experience in delivering water evaporation solutions in the toughest mining conditions; from the most humid, tropical sites where the mine is constantly challenged with removing large quantities of water to arid, desert environments where managing water quality and contaminates is paramount.

With an increased focus on dewatering mines to achieve Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD), Minetek has developed solutions that cost effectively manage water quantity and quality issues on site.

After investigating a raft of different methods from sprinkler systems through to desalination systems (too costly for little benefit) we decided on the MINETEK WATER units. The evaporators were easy to install and once activated ran trouble free. We were very happy with the service from MINETEK and the reliability of the system.

The ability to deliver equipment on time has been a feature of our dealing and we haven't had a situation where a variation has been requested. The quality of their workmanship has been good and the capability of hardware has been as expected or better than quoted”

I have used these evaporators very successfully at mine sites where I have worked in the past. They are an extremely reliable unit and worked above expectations in the environment where we had them set up. As for spray drift/mist this can be controlled by the weather monitoring systems that are available with the units. Additionally, how you set them up and the amount of fall you can achieve allows for more moisture to be stripped from the droplets]will greatly benefit your overall evaporation rates.
