The water used in food industry processing can be categorised into water for cooling, water from washing operations, water in cleaning operations, water and electrical power used during sanitation process (sanitation water), water from cleaning equipment and water treatment chemicals. Wastewater from these processes called food processing wastewater presents a unique challenge for food industry operators as the water often cannot be reused or recycled, becoming contaminated with solid wastes such as sludge from thickener or clarifier processes.
While some production processes target the reuse of water, such as food processing wastewater, through a process of wastewater treatment as means of reducing overall water consumption, the effective management of wastewater remains as a long-term economic and environmental burden for food processing operations.
Minetek has developed extensive capabilities in maximising the potential to reuse wastewater by-products with our water evaporation system able to remove a high ratio of Total Dissolvable Solids (TDS) allowing operators to repurpose treated water into other processes
