COMPLETE UNDERSTANDING

Sound Power Testing

UNDERSTANDING OPERATING SOUND CHARACTERISTICS

Sound power testing provides a much more thorough approach to understanding machine noise and is undertaken in carefully controlled conditions to simulate a range of operating conditions. This dynamic sound power testing measurement is implemented on a ramp and comprises, stationary, uphill loaded, downhill loaded (using retard) testing.

Incorporating a range of settings to simulate a variety of operating conditions, our experts are able to generate a complete understanding of sound characteristics in both ramped and open settings with no reflective surfaces nearby to interfere with sound power measurement. The result offers operators complete insight into each machine's sound profile and enables our experts to tailor sound attenuation strategy specific to the findings.

With these insights, MINETEK can develop and implement a sound suppression package which meets regulatory requirements in the most efficient and cost-effective manner, all while protecting workers' hearing and reducing impacts on the environment.

I can honestly say I have found MINTEK WATER a very professional organisation in all the dealings that I have had with them. They have always been proactive and looked for and suggested alternatives to assist me in the delivery of my projects whilst still working on the original concept.

We have utilised MINETEK for a number of sound attenuation projects in the Hunter Valley and have formed an excellent relationship with Glencore over many years. MINETEK understand our industry and always provide a solid and professional commitment to meeting our goals and objectives."

The relatively small fans allowed us to utilise our existing bulkhead, where we were severely limited by space, which allowed us to use our existing infrastructure and dramatically reduce downtime in the mine during the change out. The installation was completed safely... and allows us to scale our ventilation flow with their pressure on demand system to suit our production profile.

I have used these evaporators very successfully at mine sites where I have worked in the past. They are an extremely reliable unit and worked above expectations in the environment where we had them set up. As for spray drift/mist this can be controlled by the weather monitoring systems that are available with the units. Additionally, how you set them up and the amount of fall you can achieve allows for more moisture to be stripped from the droplets]will greatly benefit your overall evaporation rates.

The ability to deliver equipment on time has been a feature of our dealing and we haven't had a situation where a variation has been requested. The quality of their workmanship has been good and the capability of hardware has been as expected or better than quoted”
