Sister companies Minetek and Fanquip are family-run Australian businesses. For over 30 years they have brought high-end engineering, manufacturing, production, sales and corporate jobs to the NSW Hunter and Sydney regions. Both companies share core company values with a focus on quality products and the notion that looking after their employees will, in turn, make for a more productive and happy workplace.

The Minetek group prides itself on a small, dedicated team of people and comradery not seen in other businesses. Whether it’s due to the fact both companies are family-run, or the layout of the office (the Directors and CEO sit amongst the other employees in the office), there’s something that feels different about this high-performing organisation. When asked what they most like about working at Minetek or Fanquip, the sales team all mentioned the support provided by management and other employees.

Electrical Apprenticeship Program

An electrical apprenticeship is a great career pathway for school leavers entering the workforce, with hands-on experience that cannot be replicated in a classroom setting. Get paid to build your knowledge and skills over your three-year electrical apprenticeship. Our apprenticeship program includes both on-the-job training and mandatory electrical trade schooling at TAFE.

A key component of an electrical apprenticeship is the completion of a Certificate III in Electrotechnology. This qualification provides students with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge needed to safely work with electrical systems. This qualification ensures competencies to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment in buildings and premises. It also includes ERAC requirements for an ‘Electrician’s licence’.

Minetek’s career apprenticeship program covers all educational expenses, with the opportunity for future employment after completing their electrical apprenticeship.

Mechanical Apprenticeship Program

A mechanical apprenticeship is a great career opportunity for those wanting to pursue a career in engineering or mechanicals. Get paid to work alongside an engineering/mechanical tradesman within the metal, engineering and manufacturing industries. Build your knowledge and skills over your three-year mechanical engineering apprenticeship with both on-the-job training and mandatory trade schooling at TAFE.

A key component of your mechanical apprenticeship is the completion of a Certificate III in Engineering. This qualification provides students with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge needed to apply to a wide range of mechanical trade work, including undertaking fitting, assembly, manufacture, installation, modification, testing, fault finding, maintenance and service of mechanical equipment, machinery and the use of machine tools. Minetek’s career apprenticeship program covers your educational course fees and provides an opportunity for ongoing employment after the completion of your apprenticeship.
