Assistant Accountant

About the Position:

The role will be responsible for the accounting operations of the group including but not limited to financial reporting, management reports, business analytics and ATO Requirements.

You will be working as part of a collaborative and supportive team, accountable for:

  • Analysing financial information for the group and preparing transaction reports
  • Input into daily transactional accounting, bookkeeping, A/P & A/R functions
  • Project and manufacturing accounting, costing and process conducive to effective departmental profitability reporting
  • Identifying and investigating accounting and financial irregularities
  • Preparation of monthly financial reports covering balance sheet, profit and loss, internal management reports and cash flow statements
  • Monitoring budgets against actual performance and reporting any significant variances to key stakeholders
  • Supporting the business in ERP implementation and management through effective use of Microsoft Dynamics Navision
  • Updating and maintaining financial information in Business Central, company-specific financial performance software, and PowerBI
  • Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Assisting with preparation of financial statements including GL reconciliations, analysing GL transactions and verifying stock

About You:

We are seeking someone with a perfect blend of technical and soft skills, that covers the following:

  • Accounting knowledge and skills developed from previous experience in an internal business accounting position
  • Formal qualifications are preferable (but not essential), CA/CPA qualified are also desirable
  • Experience using contemporary accounting software with a passion for learning platform ‘best practices’ for maximum utilisation
  • Knowledge and skills with Business Central/Navision are highly desirable;
  • Highly proficient computer skills and capability using Microsoft office suite(particularly Excel)
  • Strong attention to detail, a consistently high standard of accuracy and comfortable working autonomously
  • Self-motivated and pro-active in producing quality output in a timely manner
  • Excellent report writing and research skills
  • Confident and articulate, with excellent communication skills that will support positive interactions
