How we can help
If you have an issue with noise whether it’s in your cabin, processing facility, fleet, trucks, excavators, fixed or mobile assets then we can investigate the primary source of noise and offer a solution.
A recent example involved investigating conveyor noise at a BHP mine site
Step 1: The Brief
Customer reaches out to Minetek regarding a noise concern, this could be due to neighbours complaining or exceedance of site noise levels.
Step 2: Monitor noise
Our sound testing services adhere to industry standards such as AS1269.1 and ISO-9001, providing accurate measurements to assess noise levels and verify the effectiveness of our acoustic solutions. This is done through sound visualisation to narrow in on those frequency bands that are problematic and then identify the noise sources causing those.
Step 3: Solution
Propose a solution to resolve the noise issues and meeting sound level requirements. Typically this solution involves Minetek Sound attenuation, in addition to supplementary solutions.
How it works
Sound intensity / power testing typically occurs with sound problem investigation. It involves going around with a sound level meter and testing to determine what the problem is or how loud the noise levels are. Sound visualisation is also used to visually see where the noise is coming from, first it pinpoints where the noise is coming from or where the noise is escaping, you can also set the range on the camera to target specific frequency bands. This enables you to narrow down where specific frequencies are coming from.
Leveraging sound data & visualisation
Typically, our engineers prefer sound intensity data because it consists of numerical values that can be used for calculations, whereas visualisation technology is more commonly used for high-level assessments. Leveraging state-of-the-art sound visualisation techniques, we provide clients with intuitive representations of sound propagation and attenuation, facilitating informed decision-making and solution optimisation.
