Turkish Copper and cobalt producer turns to Minetek for effective water management
This is located in the Democratic Republic of Congo and produces approximately 200,000 metric tons of copper and 18,000 metric tones of cobalt per year.

The Project
Minetek was commissioned to supply eight 8 x large evaporators to this copper and cobalt mine mine to assist in the management of wastewater from the copper and cobalt plant. The system was installed on the site tailings pond and operated for a number of years before the tailings pond was beached. The Minetek evaporators were manufactured out of 316 Stainless Steel to withstand the highly corrosive environment that they were operating in. Minetek supplied the entire system including MCC, pumps, cable pipework, commissioning and training.
