North Mara mine is part of the Acacia mining and commenced commercial production in 2002. The mine is a combined open and underground operation which processes an average of 8,000 tonnes of ore per day.

The Project
This East-African gold mine purchased a turnkey ‘plug and play’ package that consisted of 4 x Minetek water evaporators to assist in the reduction of excess water from the gold plant tailings pond on site. As the water was slightly corrosive, the units were mild steel hot dipped galvanised and coated with an acid resistant ceramic coating. These 4 units excelled the expectations of the client that they were designed for and consequently our client purchased an additional 4 units.
