Underground ventilation technology

Minetek has created the most sophisticated and innovative ventilation solutions through world-class engineering, breakthrough technology, and intensive research and development.

Unmatched underground ventilation

Engineered with the mining industry at the forefront, Minetek’s Raptor™ & Crusher series range is robust and reliable with a broad operating range. Our innovative patented impeller allows for operation at pressures previously thought impossible with prolonged life, in even the harshest of underground environments.

Compact lightweight design

The company shape of Minetek's Secondary Raptor™ Fan fits tight spaces and steep declines. Its 8.2 ft / 2,500 mm shorter and 2850 lbs / 1,300 kg lighter than the industry-standard twin 110 kW fan. Unlike older twin fans that require two separate parts, the Raptor™ lifts and installs as a single unit. This speeds up installation and set-up while reducing operational risks.

Advanced power saving capabilities

Minetek’s powerful single-speed fans have been proven to reduce power consumption costs and improve underground mining ventilation systems. Minetek's Secondary Raptor™ Fan requires 65hp / 50kw less power while maintaining similar performance to other industry-standard 110kW twin fans.

Modular fan design

Minetek's Secondary Raptor™ Fan lifts and installs as a single unit. This speeds up installation and set-up while reducing operational risks and the need for extra motors and silencers. Its lighter weight design ensures easy moveablity, which supports the every-changing needs of the mine. It can quickly and easily be re-deployed to other locations to meet the mine's evolving demands including expansion for long-duct-runs and deeper operations that need high-performance ventilation.

Underground ventilation, engineered to perfection

Exceed ESG goals by utilising forward-thinking ventilation solutions that save OPEX over the entire Life Of Mine. Innovative engineering has resulted in world-first features like Minetek’s Performance-on-demand (POD) controls, enabling metalliferous mines to experience power savings, durability, and flexibility not achieved with traditional fans.

Minetek’s Mine Air Control (MAC) system, in conjunction with the fan’s Performance on Demand (POD) technology, seamlessly integrates with the mine’s operating layer to optimise airflow across the entire air circuit, providing the correct amount of airflow when and where required. With the ability to ramp airflow up or down based on scheduling and vehicle movements and remotely control the entire ventilation system from the surface, our fan offers true mine ventilation on demand.

Primary fans

Main ventilation systems provide airflow in and out of underground mines. Minetek’s primary fans are a durable and flexible solution that enables operational efficiency.

Secondary fans

A single secondary fan can ventilate long duct runs up to 200m in length. Keep additional fan installations and mid-project shutdowns to a minimum, with Minetek’s secondary ventilation fans.

Booster fans

Optimise airflow with Minetek’s Booster Fans, used to reduce pressure from the primary fan and provide the air flow and pressure required for deep underground mining operations.

Raptor Series Fans

Choose from a range of motor and size options based on your duty point. The heavy-duty construction of the Raptor Series Fan ensures wear resistance, durability and longevity in even the toughest mining environments, whilst the accessible design allows for easy servicing and maintenance.

Experience the Minetek difference

Minetek’s Performance On Demand (POD) technology allows operators to tailor pressure and power consumption without the need for VSDs. The fan’s vane inlets control the POD system, adjusting the vent flow and power usage. The result is a seamless, responsive solution that optimises performance, reduces power consumption costs, and increases overall operational efficiency.

Challenging the status quo in underground ventilation with anti-stall technology

Our innovative anti-stall chamber cleverly controls the flow of air, capturing turbulent airflow and unstable pre-swirls. The technology not only eliminates critical stalls but has been proven to extend the operating range and overall performance of the fan across the entire curve.

We are always looking at new innovations and technologies that will benefit both us and our clients. Minetek has been able to display that with the use of their modern ventilation technology, where we can look to see production increases through faster re-entry times and reduced capital costs in the total life of the development, delivering value to both us and Mincor.

The relatively small fans allowed us to utilise our existing bulkhead, where we were severely limited by space, which allowed us to use our existing infrastructure and dramatically reduce downtime in the mine during the change out. The installation was completed safely... and allows us to scale our ventilation flow with their pressure on demand system to suit our production profile.

We’ve been installing the 700 HP fans we purchased a while back. The installation and commissioning has been going great. We are replacing four Spendrup 400 HP fans with four Minetek 700 HP fans. Last week we replaced two of the fans and yesterday they began replacing the second two. Should have these two completed today or tomorrow. The two 700 HP fans we installed last week are running and performing better than we anticipated. So far, I’ve been very pleased. Not only with their performance but with the POD and with their power draw as you adjust the POD. It appears that the Minetek fans are going to fit perfectly into our plans for a Ventilation On Demand system.
